His 1959 comic book debut. Actually in the beginning he was known as Mr. Zero. It wasn't until the 1966 series came along that he was re-named Mr. Freeze.
Mr. Freeze made a total of three appearances on the Batman TV series, and each time a different actor took on the role. During the first season, George Sanders was the first in Episodes 7 & 8, INSTANT FREEZE and RATS LIKE CHEESE (which aired on 2/2/66 and 2/3/66).
Otto Preminger was the second actor the fill Freeze's boots in Episodes 53 & 54: GREEN ICE (11/9/66) and DEEP FREEZE (11/10/66).

Introduced on BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES in 1992 in the episode HEART OF ICE, more of Dr. Victor Fries' past was told then ever before. His voice was supplied by Michael Ansara. He appeared periodically through 1998 on the series, in episodes like DEEP FREEZE, and in the film SUBZERO.
In the 1997 film BATMAN AND ROBIN, Arnold Schwarzenegger played the brooding muscle-bound doctor.
The 1997 straight-to-video release of the film SUBZERO, marked the last appearance of Robin and the last of Mr. Freeze as we know him.
In 1998, Freeze returned to the animated storyline having lost his body to the cold. Primarily a cyborg now, with even less emotion than before. Still voiced by Michael Ansara.
